CABRERA RETURNS

Angel Cabrera returned to professional golf after a successful surgery. The 41-year-old Argentinean played his first 18 holes on Wednesday, May 11th, during a practice session at the Stadium Course without any trouble. He did not complain about any pain or discomfort.

Meanwhile, his swing coach, Charlie Epps who accompanied him during the session, said that the player was well and could play golf without any serious trouble.

Epps said, “"He feels pretty good. We went to the doctor in Houston Saturday and they said it was healing well and he could go ahead and play golf”.

CHARITY TOURNAMENT FROM MAY

The latest golf charity tournament is all set to start from May onwards and a number of golfers are prepared to volunteer for the tournament.

CABRERA SIGNS FOR SHELL HOUSTON OPEN

Angel Cabrera has signed for the Shell Houston Open that is all set to change his career. Cabrera, who won the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and 2009 Masters tournament, joined reigning British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa in committing to the March 31-April 3 PGA Tour event, which will be played on the Tournament Course at Redstone Golf Club the week before the Masters.

CABRERA PART OF US OPEN

Angel Cabrera will be taking part in a golf tournament in the United States shortly. The Cordoba golfer Angel Cabrera will be part of tomorrow's Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, United States, as well as begin a tour that will last until mid-March.

Cabrera, who won the 2009 Masters, played at San Diego and then compete in the Phoenix Open.

After completion of the tournament, the golfer returns to Houston to play at the Shell Houston Open, and the next week one of the most anticipated tournaments, The Masters, which will be held from 4 to 10 April.

CABRERA PLAYING AT TORREY PINES

Angel Cabrera, the 2009 US Open winner has committed to play in this month’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Rocco Mediate, Hunter Mahan, Stewart Cink, Boo Weekley, and Rickie Fowler also have committed.

Tom Wilson, tournament director and executive director of the Century Club, said six-time tournament champion Tiger Woods has not committed, but the expectation remains that Woods will be here for the first time in three years.

The golf betting sites are currently offering Cabrera at odds of 33/1 to win, which might be worth a punt....?



CABRERA ABSENT

Golfer Angel Cabrera was one of the important persons to be absent from the gala. Major players in the sport Cordoba could not be at the gala that closed the sporting year. Those absent with notice, were Javier Pastore, the player of Palermo in Italy, David Eli, organizer of the Rally Dakar Argentina-Chile 2010, basketball Leonardo Gutierrez, Rally driver, Federico Villagra, the golfer Angel Cabrera and former swimmer José Méolans.

CABRERA RECOVERS

Angel Cabrera recovered from his initial struggles to finish strongly in the PGA tour. The Cordoba Angel Cabrera, top seed to keep the competition before the start, recovered in the final round (he signed a round 70 strokes) and advanced to the sixth placement, with 279 (-1).

The Tucuman César Costilla, winner of the 2009, progressed to the ninth position with 280 strokes (even), like the La Plata Juan Pablo Cordoba Abbate and Estanislao Goya.

CABRERA SET FOR US OPEN

Angel Cabrera learnt that he was officially in the field for the 92nd PGA Championship, though he's not being too well backed in the golf betting markets.

A spokesman for the PGA of America confirmed Cabrera was on the list. The 92nd PGA Championship is Aug. 12-15 at Whistling Straits.

The field tentatively includes a record 99 of the top 100-ranked golfers in the world and a record 79 international players from 22 countries.
