Angel Cabrera has signed for the Shell Houston Open that is all set to change his career. Cabrera, who won the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and 2009 Masters tournament, joined reigning British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa in committing to the March 31-April 3 PGA Tour event, which will be played on the Tournament Course at Redstone Golf Club the week before the Masters.
The addition of the 28-year-old Oosthuizen, ranked No. 19 in the world, gives the tournament early commitments from three players ranked in the top 20 in the world. Two weeks ago, the world’s top ranked player, Lee Westwood of England, used one his allotted sponsor’s exemptions to sign up for the event as did 17th ranked Francesco Molinari of Italy. Neither are members of the PGA Tour this year.
